Prayers

Sacred Heart Of Jesus

Act Of Adoration

I adore Thee, Lord and Creator, hidden in the Blessed Sacrament. I adore Thee for all the works of Thy hands, that reveal to me so much wisdom, goodness and mercy, O Lord. Thou hast spread so much beauty over the earth, and it tells me about Thy Beauty, even though these beautiful things are but a faint reflection of Thine Incomprehensible Beauty. And although Thou hast hidden Thyself and concealed Thy Beauty, my eye, enlightened by faith, reaches Thee, and my soul recognizes its Creator, its Highest Good; and my heart is completely immersed in prayer of adoration.
Amen
.

The Seven Sorrows Of Mary

The Seven Sorrows Of Our Blessed Mother With Scripture And Meditation

First Sorrow was the prophecy of Simeon that a sword would pierce her heart (Luke 2:34). Mary stood at the foot of the Cross. Sins of abortion, suicide, murder, sexual abuse, adultery — all sins cause her great sorrow, as they deeply offend Jesus.

Second Sorrow was the flight of Joseph and Mary into Egypt to escape from Herod who wanted to kill the Child. Today Mary’s heart is filled with pain at the sight of so many refugees fleeing for their lives.

Third Sorrow was the loss of the boy Jesus in the temple.

Fourth Sorrow was the meeting of Jesus and Mary on the way to the Cross. Mary experienced tremendous sorrow at seeing her Son carrying His heavy cross. Our sins fill her heart with sorrow.

Fifth Sorrow was the Crucifixion. Jesus is deeply offended by those souls who commit serious sins.

Sixth Sorrow was the taking down of the Body of Jesus from the Cross.

Seventh Sorrow was the burial of Jesus. Mary, the Mother of God, experiences tremendous sorrow at the sight of so many people today for whom Christ’s death and resurrection mean nothing.

Mary’s Seven Graces

Saint Bridget of Sweden (1302 – 1373) told us that Our Blessed Mother promises the following seven graces to those who honor her daily by saying seven Hail Mary’s and meditating on her tears and sorrows:

  1. I will grant peace to their families.
  2. They will be enlightened about the divine mysteries.
  3. I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work.
  4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my Divine Son or the sanctification of the soul.
  5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.
  6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death. They will see the face of their mother.
  7. I have obtained this grace from my Son; that those who propagate this devotion will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness, since all their sins will be forgiven. My Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy.

Prayer Of Consecration

The Prayer of Consecration is said after the Praises to the Sacred Heart.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, King and center of all hearts, I consecrate my life to you this day.

I thank you for the gift of the Eucharist, which gives me strength and blessing and fills me with love for you and for my neighbor.

Give me the grace to share this love with everyone I meet.

In dedicating my heart to you, let me be the means of bringing your love to the hearts of all, so that your Sacred Heart will be loved and honored among all the peoples of the world.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on me!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, hear and answer my prayers!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

Prayer To The Sacred Heart

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, you said: “Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.”

With confidence in your loving, compassionate Heart I come to you as the fountain of every blessing.

I ask you to make my heart humble and holy like yours. Grant me to live a holy life and to die a happy death.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on me!

The Promises Of Jesus

The twelve promises of Jesus were given to Sister Margaret Mary.

Jesus said to Sister Margaret Mary, “Look at this Heart which has loved men so much, and yet men do not want to love Me in return. Through you My divine Heart wishes to spread its love everywhere on earth.”

The 12 Promises of Jesus to all who honor His Sacred Heart

Which promise is most important to you?

  1. I will establish peace in their homes.
  2. I will comfort them in all their sorrows.
  3. I will be their refuge during life and at the hour of their death.
  4. I will bless all their undertakings.
  5. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source of infinite mercy.
  6. Lukewarm souls shall grow closer to Me.
  7. Eager souls shall quickly rise to great perfection.
  8. I will bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.
  9. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.
  10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
  11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names permanently written in My Heart.
  12. The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My heart shall be their safe refuge at that last hour.

Honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus and in wonderful ways He will make your life so much better.

You honor the Sacred Heart by saying

  • the Praises to the Sacred Heart,
  • the Prayer of Consecration,
  • having a picture of the Sacred Heart in a place of honor in your home.

To overcome the things that pull you down, practice this devotion each day. The promises of the Sacred Heart guarantee your success.

Daily Consecration To The Sacred Heart Of Jesus And Immaculate Heart Of Mary

Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I consecrate my entire self to the Most Holy Love of Your Two Hearts. I wish to make reparation for all the sins of the world, including my own. I offer these things for the love of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

I will keep my mind on beauty and turn my thoughts from evil things. I will hold my temper and bear the mistakes of others with love and a forgiving heart. I will admit when I am wrong and ask others to forgive me. I will not show off, but remain humble. I will offer up all my sufferings, sicknesses and hurts and seek God’s Will, not my own. I will show appreciation for the kindness and blessings that I receive, and thank God for all things. I will do everything in my life for love of God and I will love others as God has loved me.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, receive the offering and consecration I now make of myself to You. Keep me faithful until death and bring me one day to the happy home in heaven. I desire to live forever with God the Father and the Most Holy Spirit and You my Lord Jesus, together with Your Most Immaculate Mother. Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, please protect us.

Act Of Contrition

(Be the one who apologizes first… because it pleases Jesus)

My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.

In choosing to do wrong
and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.

I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance,
to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.

Prayer For The Family

O God of goodness and mercy, to Thy fatherly guidance we commend our family, our household and all our belongings. We commit all to Thy love and keeping; do Thou fill this house with Thy blessings even as Thou didst fill the holy House of Nazareth with Thy presence.

Keep far from us, above all else, the blemish of sin, and do Thou alone reign in our midst by Thy law, by Thy most holy love and by the exercise of every Christian virtue. Let each one of us obey Thee, love Thee and set himself to follow in his own life Thine example, that of Mary, Thy Mother and our Mother most loving, and that of Thy blameless guardian, Saint Joseph.

Protect us and our house from all evils and misfortunes, but grant that we may be ever resigned to Thy divine will even in the sorrows which it shall please Thee to send us. Finally give unto all of us the grace to live in perfect harmony and in the fullness of love toward our neighbor. Grant that every one of us may deserve by a holy life the comfort of Thy holy Sacraments at the hour of death. O Jesus, bless us and protect us.

O Mary, Mother of grace and of mercy, defend us against the wicked spirit, reconcile us with Thy Son, commit us to His keeping, that so we may be made worthy of His promises.

Saint Joseph, foster-father of our Savior, guardian of His holy Mother, head of the Holy Family, intercede for us, bless us and defend our home at all times.

Saint Michael, defend us against all the evil cunning of hell.

Saint Gabriel, make us to understand the holy will of God.

Saint Raphael, preserve us from all sickness and from every danger to our lives.

Our holy Guardian Angels, keep our feet safely on the path of salvation both day and night.

Our holy Patrons, pray for us before the throne of God.

Yea, bless this house, O God the Father, who hast created us; O God the Son, who hast suffered for us upon the holy Cross, and Thou, O Holy Spirit, who hast sanctified us in holy Baptism. May the one God in three divine Persons preserve our bodies, purify our minds, direct our hearts and bring us all to everlasting life.

Glory be to the Father, glory be to the Son, glory be to the Holy Ghost! Amen.

Prayer For The Zest Of Living

Heavenly Father,
no matter what may befall me,
let me never lose my zest for life
or my appreciation of this beautiful world
that You have created and made available to me.

Keep ever before my eyes the glory of being alive,
the wondrous freshness of each new day,
and the magnificence of the creatures around us
as they sing Your praises by their very being.

Do not let me focus on my own troubles
and remain blind to life’s wonders.
Teach me how to take time each day
to thank You for all Your gifts to us,
singing Your glory with all your creatures
in union with Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Giver Of Bread

Lord God, giver of bread, we bless You for your Heavenly kindness. There can be no famine while the bread of Heaven endures, and help us to remember that when we are forgetful of Your infinite kindness.

How blessed it is to know that we shall not want forever, as You will not allow Your children to go without bread.

However long the day, and hard the work, we have the rest and the bounty and the bread. Happy and grateful are we! We have You who plan our daily feast for us. As we eat of the bread of Heaven we shall continue to prosper on earth. Kind Lord, feed me until I shall want no more!

Prayer To St. Gabriel, For Others

O loving messenger of the Incarnation, descend upon all those for whom I wish peace and happiness. Spread your wings over the cradles of the new-born babes, O thou who didst announce the coming of the Infant Jesus.

Give to the young a lily petal from the virginal scepter in your hand. Cause the Ave Maria to re-echo in all hearts that they may find grace and joy through Mary.

Finally, recall the sublime words spoken on the day of the Annunciation– “Nothing is impossible with God,” and repeat them in hours of trial–to all I love–that their confidence in Our Lord may be reanimated, when all human help fails. Amen.

Prayer For The Salvation Of The World

Father, hear our prayers for the salvation of the world. Grant Mercy to all souls that turned away from you. Open their hearts and minds with Your light.

Gather your children from the east and the west, from the north and the south. Have mercy O God on those who do not know You. Bring them out of darkness into your light. You are our saving God who
leads us in our salvation. Protect us from evil.

Bless and praise You O Lord, hear our prayers and answer us. You, our Savior, are the hope of all the ends of the Earth and the distant seas. May Your way be known upon Earth; among all nations Your salvation.

We put the world in Your hands; fill us with Your love. Grant us peace through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Prayer To Redeem Lost Time

O My God! Source of All Mercy! I acknowledge Your sovereign power. While recalling the wasted years that are past, I believe that You, Lord, can in an instant turn this loss to gain. Miserable as I am, yet I firmly believe that You can do all things. Please restore to me the time lost, giving me Your grace, both now and in the future, that I may appear before You in “wedding garments.”
Amen.

Prayer Against Evil On Earth

Spirit of our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Most Holy Trinity, Immaculate Virgin Mary, angels, archangels, and saints of heaven, descend upon me. Please purify me, Lord, mold me, fill me with yourself, use me.

Banish all the forces of evil, destroy them, vanish them, so that we can all be healthy and do good deeds.

Banish from us all black magic, terror, killing, force in believes, and the evil eye; diabolic infestations, oppressions, possessions; all that is evil and sinful, perfidy, envy; physical, psychological, moral, spiritual, diabolical aliments.

Burn all these evils in hell, that they may never again touch us or any other creature in the entire world.

By the power of God all powerful, in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, through the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary – to leave forever, and to be consigned into the everlasting hell, where they will be bound by Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Gabriel, Saint Raphael, our guardian angels, and where they will be crushed under the heel of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Amen.
